Wafaa M Rashed: More Incredible News from the PAPERI Family
Wafaa M Rashed, Faculty Lecturer of Pharmacy at the Ahram Canadian University, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“More Incredible News from the PAPERI Family!
We are excited and proud to celebrate the achievements of some of our outstanding Pan-African PGS Education and Research Initiative (PAPERI) members who continue to shine in science, research, and advocacy!
Mr. Jacob Apibilla Ayembilla from Ghana has received fellowship to attend the prestigious Polygenic Risk Score course, organized by Wellcome Connecting Science, taking place from June 22–27 in Kampala, Uganda. Jacob is currently working on colorectal cancer research, and we are confident this course will further enhance his contributions in the field. We wish him every success as he continues to advance in his scientific journey!
Ms. Ugboaja Nkechi Blessing from Nigeria, another active PAPERI member and a graduate of our Policy Advocacy in Genetics and Genomics course, has been selected to attend the esteemed Alamo Advocate Program (AAP)! The program will be held from December 8–12, running concurrently with the 2025 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) in the United States. She will serve as a patient advocate, making a vital impact in the global health community.
We are so proud of your accomplishments, Jacob and Blessing! Keep up the amazing work and continue representing Africa with excellence!
A Call to Celebrate Together!
Success is even more meaningful when shared. If you’ve recently reached a milestone—whether completing a degree, receiving an award, or achieving something special—please feel free to share it with me.
Each achievement, big or small, adds to a collective story of perseverance, ambition, and growth. Let’s uplift one another, celebrate our hard work, and continue inspiring future generations together!
With pride and gratitude,
Dr. Wafaa M. Rashed
Chair and Founder, Pan-African PGS Education and Research Initiative (PAPERI)”
