Omnia Korani: Prioritizing long-term, robust evidence in treatment decisions

Omnia Korani, Haematology and Bone Transplant Specialist at Air Force Specialized Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“In the evolving landscape of oncology, where new data and FDA approvals arrive rapidly, it’s essential to remember that while strong evidence is necessary to implement effective cancer therapies, even more compelling data is needed to discontinue one.

Many treatments showing promise in disease-free survival (DFS) often lose their significance with longer follow-up, and the scarcity of head-to-head and non-inferiority trials limits our ability to make accurate comparisons.

It’s a reminder that we must maintain a critical lens and prioritize long-term, robust evidence when making treatment decisions.”
