St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital shared a post on LinkedIn:
“St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has reached a historic milestone in nursing excellence.
For the third consecutive term, St. Jude has earned Magnet designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), a prestigious recognition awarded to health care organizations for their nursing philosophy, leadership and commitment to improving patient care. This year, St. Jude achieved Magnet with Distinction, an elite honor reserved for the top 1 percent of nursing programs nationwide.
The Magnet Recognition Program evaluates hospitals on their nursing practices, leadership, and patient outcomes. St. Jude was recognized as exemplars in 14 distinct areas of care, the most in St. Jude history. This achievement reflects the dedication of our nurses and their collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, high-quality care. Over 90 percent of St. Jude nurses hold BSN degrees and more than 70 percent have specialty certifications, highlighting the institution’s commitment to professional growth and development.
‘Congratulations to St. Jude nurses for attaining our first Magnet with Distinction. This recognition serves as a benchmark for patients to measure the quality of nursing care they can expect to receive at a hospital. It is also a testament to the countless contributions of our nurses, in collaboration with other team members, who have made it their commitment to provide quality patient care.’ – said Sarah Currie, Chief Nurse Executive and Senior Vice President.
Programs such as the Nurse Residency Program and the Center of Advanced Practice have played a pivotal role in this success, earning accolades for their focus on career development and retention. These initiatives ensure that St. Jude nurses are equipped to provide the highest level of care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Magnet with Distinction is a rare honor that underscores leadership in nursing excellence and patient care innovation.
Join us in celebrating this remarkable achievement and the nurses who make it possible!”
