“Great news from ESMO – European Society for Medical Oncology!
Almost six months ago, I shared my surprise and disappointment upon having my ESMO membership application request declined – at the time, membership was limited to physicians, clinicians, and statisticians.
I was pleasantly surprised to learn that ESMO has revised its bylaws, now welcoming scientists from diverse fields like computer science, applied mathematics, and other interdisciplinary domains.
This is a huge step forward for cancer research, patients, and society – fostering a more collaborative and inclusive approach in the fight against cancer. It is great to observe the growing recognition that cancer research thrives at the intersection of science, technology, and medicine.
Kudos to the ESMO – European Society for Medical Oncology board for embracing this much-needed change!”
