Matthew Wallen: Showcasing the Impact of Flinders University Cancer Survivorship Program at Drakes Supermarkets
Matthew Wallen, Academic Lead and Senior Lecturer in Exercise Science and Clinical Exercise Physiology at Flinders University, posted on LinkedIn:
“What a wonderful opportunity to present to the incredible partners at Drakes Supermarkets and showcase all the amazing work that our Flinders University Cancer Survivorship Program is doing to change the lives of all people affected by cancer!
We are beyond grateful their generous support, and for the fantastic support from the Flinders Foundation, to undertake cutting-edge cancer research, including:
1. evaluating the physical, psychosocial, and molecular effects of a community-based ‘Riding for Wellness’ cycling program for people affected by cancer (led by Ashley Hopkins and Andrew Rowland),
2. evaluating student-led ‘exercise medicine’ clinics in cancer care, and
3. improving equity and access to head and neck cancer surveillance programs in South Australia (led by Fiona Crawford-Williams)
South Australia is leading the way for supportive care in cancer – bring on 2025!”
