Michael Serzan: Lynch Syndrome Awareness Day at Dana Farber Cancer Institute
Michael Serzan, Genitourinary Medical Oncologist at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, shared a post on X:
“One of my favorite parts of Dana Farber Cancer Institute is the rich collaboration and focus on patient education.
March 22 is Lynch Syndrome Awareness Day.
Lynch Syndrome is an autosomal dominant cancer predisposition condition that increases risk of GI, GU, endometrial, and ovarian cancers
However, cancer risk differs according to gene
- MLH predominantly upper tract GI
- MSH2 widest spectrum including GI, GU
- MSH6 modest GI, high GYN risk
- PMS2 attenuated risk beyond colorectal/endometrial
- EPCAM high colorectal cancer risk.
