Katell Maguet: Translating the ecDNA Revolution into Widely Accessible Knowledge
Katell Maguet, Researcher at Change Katalyst, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Translating the ecDNA Revolution into Widely Accessible Knowledge.
Yesterday, at the Cancer Grand Challenges Summit in Boston, I had the honor of presenting our poster on the pivotal role of Patient Advocates in making groundbreaking research on extrachromosomal DNA accessible to all.
As Shirin Khalili perfectly puts it:
‘It’s a rare opportunity to see the premiere of this blockbuster research and lead its translation into lay language so that patients and caregivers learn how the most aggressive cancers can one day be conquered.’
Our collaboration with Andrea Ventura on the plain language summary of Team eDyNAmiC’s latest Nature publication is a great example of how working together benefits all:
‘Collaborating with patient advocates has been an incredibly meaningful experience. It has deepened the purpose of our work and reignited our drive. Their dedication and passion inspire us and strengthen our resolve to make a difference.’
Scientific breakthroughs should not remain locked in academic circles. They must reach those who need them most: healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers, and the public.
And today, on Stand Up for Science Day, this mission is more crucial than ever. Science is for everyone, and benefits everyone.
I’m Katell, a researcher and cancer patient advocate, who connects research, patients, and innovation to make healthcare better and advocacy more impactful!”
