“Two weeks ago, I was privileged to be asked to lead the AI special interest group at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.
Two days ago, I convened our first meeting. It was exciting to see representation across all oncology services, from pharmacists to radiographers. We broke out of our silos to share the work that we had already been working on as well as future ambitions.
We recognised the barriers that plague all digital initiatives in the horsemen of interoperability, infrastructure, illiteracy in AI, and implementation struggles.
Every journey starts with a first step, and this journey will hopefully unlock digital insights to help serve the 5000 new patients we see each year.
