Ishtar Espejo: Bringing the Voice of Civil Society to Pediatric Oncology at International Cancer Patient Coalition Event

Ishtar Espejo, Director at the Aladina Foundation, shared a post by International Cancer Patient Coalition, adding:

“This week with the International Cancer Patient Coalition I will share Fundación Aladina ‘s vision on how to transform innovation into real access for patients, especially in pediatric oncology.
It will be an honour to bring the voice of civil society to such an urgent and necessary debate. Later this week, I’ll be speaking at the “Next-Gen Diagnostics in Lung Health” congress in Kuala Lumpur, sharing Fundación Aladina’s perspective on how to turn innovation into real access for patients—especially in childhood cancer. Proud to bring the voice of civil society to this timely and important discussion.”

We are honored to welcome Ishtar Espejo, Director of Fundación Aladina (Spain), as a speaker at our upcoming session:
“Next-Gen Diagnostics in Lung Health: From Innovation to Implementation”

A trained lawyer with international studies in Spain, Canada, and France, Ishtar’s passion for the third sector led her from law and corporate communications to global cancer care advocacy. Under her leadership, Fundación Aladina has become a national benchmark in Spain, supporting over 1,700 children and families annually, and now runs international cooperation programs in Latin America, Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.

Her experience and vision will be key to the panel’s discussion on how to embed innovation—like AI diagnostics and liquid biopsy—into real-world systems that center the needs of patients and families, especially children.
