Habib Nehmé Reflects on Leadership Lessons from GE and Elekta at Work Anniversary
Habib Nehmé, CCO of Elekta, posted on LinkedIn:
“At my work anniversary in Elekta I reflect retrospectively on this. I spent 27 years at GE, where the 4Es became the foundation of our leadership culture. E for Energy, to drive speed and decisive action; E for Energize, to inspire and motivate others; E for Edge, to make bold, courageous decisions; and finally, E for Execution, to turn strategies into tangible results. These principles have shaped my approach throughout my career.
After 7 years at Elekta, I have had the privilege of learning and integrating the 4Cs, a framework eloquently introduced to us by Penny Mallory, a worldwide champion of rally car racing. Penny’s insights, shared during the ESTRO 2025 conference in Vienna, were nothing short of inspiring.
She delivered a powerful lecture on mental toughness, using her personal journey to illustrate the 4Cs:
- C for Control: The importance of owning your roadmap, shaping your destiny, and taking charge of your situation.
- C for Challenge: Embracing challenges head-on, understanding that true growth comes from stepping outside your comfort zone.
- C for Commitment: The unwavering determination to keep going, no matter the obstacles in your path.
- C for Confidence: The belief in yourself and your ability to succeed, even in the face of adversity.
Penny’s message resonated deeply with me. It embodies the spirit at Elekta, especially in an era marked by global economic disruption. In this environment, we must remain resilient and adaptive—ready to meet the technical and economic challenges for our patients, clinicians, shareholders, and employees.
After 7 years at Elekta and 27 years at GE, I see how the 4Es and the 4Cs complement each other. Together, they form a powerful combination—one that empowers us to lead with purpose, act with confidence, and execute with clarity, no matter what challenges lie ahead.”
