“Last week I joined the cancer care community in Georgia to mark World Cancer Day! The event, which was hosted by patient organizations and partners at Tbilisi City Assembly, was a testament of our collective commitment to close the gap in access to cancer care. We heard about achievements and current challenges from the patient perspective, the government, healthcare providers and private sector and shared our common goals to ensure equitable services for all.
It was truly inspiring to present all the achievements and the progress made in Tbilisi since 2019 when the city joined the City Cancer Challenge initiative and set the ambitious goal of closing the gap in cancer care. The community support that we got to tackle our strategic goals allowed us to come this far. Now we know it’s possible, so let’s continue this fight together.”
