Alli O’Neill: 10 Years of Fundraising, 10 Years of Your Generosity, and 10 Years Closer to Finding a Cure
Allison O’Neill, Associate Professor, Vice President for Clinical Performance Management at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, shared on Facebook:
“Dear Family and Friends,
10 YEARS! Ten years of training, biking 162+ miles, and crossing the Pan Mass Challenge finish line. All important, but nothing in comparison to the real impact of these 10 years. 10 years of fundraising, 10 years of your generosity, and 10 years closer to finding a cure. Research dollars have always been invaluable and scarce, but now even more so.
Research is still at the core of what we, as oncologists, go to sleep thinking about, unintentionally dream about, and wake up motivated regarding. Our patients are at the soul of this motivation. Cancer rates are not declining, so why would we de-emphasize the need for research? It’s at this juncture that your support means everything – for every person, young and old, fighting cancer.
I cannot thank you enough for these past 10 years of support and I am so very grateful in advance for your support now. 100% of anything you can donate, large or small, will go directly to cancer research. You are core to this mission and I am forever grateful. Here’s to another 162 miles dedicated to upholding the mission of research, honoring the importance of science, and furthering our efforts to a cure.
With love,
Alli O’Neill.”
