Florian Lordick: How Do Early Survivors of Cancer Feel
Florian Lordick, Editor in Chief – ESMO Gastrointestinal Oncology at ESMO – European Society for Medical Oncology, shared on LinkedIn about a recent paper by Anja Mehnert-Theuerkauf et al. published on Cancer Medicine:
“How do Early Survivors of Cancer feel, and what are the main causes of their distress?
The Leipzig PsychoOncology team has provided important insights showing that young age and low socio-economic status are the main contributors to distress in this vulnerable phase.
The call for action is that effective psychosocial interventions require a customised approach to decrease distress in vulnerable groups. Thank you for important research and collaboration Anja Mehnert-Theuerkauf and Franziska Springer and coworkers.”
