Big Changes are Coming to How Cancer Research Gets Funded – Fight Colorectal Cancer
Fight Colorectal Cancer shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Big changes are coming to how cancer research gets funded.
A new NIH-wide policy now requires many grants to be ‘upfront funded’—meaning the full amount must be awarded at once. That means fewer new grants in 2025 and a real risk of slowing down lifesaving research.
For colorectal cancer, the implications are serious. Budget cuts at the National Cancer Institute mean fewer new projects will move forward next year.
At Fight CRC, we’re standing with researchers and pushing for strong, steady federal funding so innovation doesn’t get stalled.
