“Cancer is not the disease of the individual, but a disease of the whole family and friends” – Fatima Cardoso
ABC Global Alliance shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Fatima Cardoso during the European Cancer Organization Summit at the session on Survivorship and Quality of Life Network made a very important statement ‘Cancer is not the disease of the individual, but a disease of the whole family and friends. Caring for someone with metastatic has a big toll, both physically and mentally’.”
Ginny Mason, Executive Director of the Inflammatory Breast Cancer Research Foundation, shared this post, adding:
“People are quick to ask ‘what can I do?’ when someone is diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer. If the disease comes back, those offers of help gradually disappear, especially when treatment goes on and on. We need to remember the need for help/support remains indefinitely.”
