Erin Hall-Westfall: Constellate Global Talent partners with Cancer Research UK on the searches for two new pivotal roles
“Constellate Global Talent is proud to announce our partnership with Cancer Research UK on the searches for two new pivotal roles, the Associate Director of Philanthropy, Translation and Innovation Lead and the Associate Director of Philanthropy, the Francis Crick Institute.
From funding groundbreaking research and sharing accessible, reliable information, to influencing policy and promoting positive behavioural change, Cancer Research UK is driven by a single purpose: to accelerate breakthroughs in cancer research and treatment.
Building on the success of the current £400m More Research, Less Cancer campaign, Cancer Research UK are looking for two senior fundraising leaders who can inspire ambitious and innovative teams, and drive some of the most impactful philanthropic initiatives in the UK.
Associate Director of Philanthropy, Translation and Innovation Lead, will be responsible for driving fundraising strategy and performance for the Translation and Innovation campaign priority with a particular focus on the Children’s and Young People’s programme. This role will provide leadership and mentoring to three direct reports and a broader team of 11 fundraising professionals across the Major Gifts, Leadership Giving, and Trust and Foundations teams.
Associate Director of Philanthropy, the Francis Crick Institute, will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy for one of the world’s leading scientific research institutes, including the launch of a new campaign to mark the Crick’s 10th anniversary in 2027. This role will directly lead a team of five with matrix management across the wider CRUK philanthropy group.
Both roles report directly to Chris Gethin and are members of the Philanthropy Leadership Group, working closely with an incredible team of professionals across the Philanthropy Directorate and the broader organisation.
The roles will require values-driven leaders with the ability to work at the most senior levels both internally and externally, and will provide the opportunity to build relationships with philanthropists, high net-worth individuals, incredible scientists and colleagues across the organisation.
If you are looking to make more of an impact in your work every day, now is the time to join the world’s largest charitable funder of cancer research!
Unfortunately, LinkedIn only allows us to post one candidate pack at a time, so make sure to look at both packs here and in my second post! Please get in touch with me, Joanna Logan if you want to learn more or have a confidential conversation.”
Nick Grant, Executive Director of Strategy and Philanthropy at Cancer Research UK, shared this post, adding:
“These two senior roles are critical to the growth of Philanthropy at Cancer Research UK, and to the delivery of our More Research Less Cancer campaign – the largest ever in the UK charity sector.
Both report to the brilliant Chris Gethin and will be part of a dynamic team that is changing the role of philanthropic giving in medical research and helping to transform future outcomes for people affected by cancer.”
