Enrique Velazquez Villarreal: Honored to receive the AACR Minority-Serving Institution Faculty Scholar in Cancer Research Award
Enrique Velazquez Villarreal, Assistant Professor at City of Hope Cancer Center, posted on LinkedIn:
“Today at AACR25, I am deeply honored to receive the AACR Minority-Serving Institution (MMSI) Faculty Scholar in Cancer Research Award.
This recognition is a reflection of the incredible work happening at the Velazquez Villarreal Lab at City of Hope, where our team is passionately dedicated to advancing colorectal cancer disparities research and driving precision medicine solutions. By integrating clinical, genomic, and social determinants of health — and now developing artificial intelligence technologies — we are uncovering new pathways to improve outcomes.
A heartfelt thank you to the MICR Council, our amazing collaborators, and my incredible lab team for making this journey possible. I’m excited for what lies ahead as we continue to innovate at the intersection of genomics, AI, and cancer research.”
