Álvaro Tejerizo García: ESGO and ENGAGe’s Global Initiative to Raise Awareness about Gynecologic Cancers
Álvaro Tejerizo García, Head of the Gynecologic Oncology and Endoscopy Department at October 12 Hospital and Council Member at ESGO, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“September 20 marks World Gynecologic Oncology Day – ESGO and ENGAGe (European Network of Gynaecological Cancer Advocacy Groups)’s global initiative to raise awareness about gynecologic cancers. I warmly encourage all my colleagues to join us in supporting this important cause.
Early detection is often key to improving outcomes in gynecologic cancers. Awareness campaigns like this one play a crucial role in reaching our communities, promoting education, and ultimately improving care. By talking more openly about symptoms, risk factors, and available treatments, we can also help dispel the myths, stigma, and misconceptions that continue to surround these diseases.
There are many ways to get involved: share messages on social media, organize an awareness or educational event at your clinic or institution in collaboration with your local patient advocacy group, or participate in an existing initiative.
European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO) shared this post, adding:
“We hope all our ESGO members join Álvaro Tejerizo García, MD, PhD, and ESGO ENGAGe in raising awareness and lifting up patient voices this World GO Day!”
