“From Words to Action: Fatty Liver and NCDs at the Heart of EU Policy!
What began as a powerful call to action — announced by
Marko Korenjak (ELPA President),
Vicki Mooney (CEO ECPO), and
Veronika Všetíčková ELPA EU Affairs)Fatty Liver Disease is one of the fastest-growing and most neglected public health challenges in Europe. Closely linked with obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease — it is time Europe acts with has now become a landmark event at the European Parliament.
Hosted by MEPs Michalis Hadjipantela (EPP 🇨🇾) andIrena Joveva (Renew 🇸🇮), the event brought together policymakers, medical experts, and patient voices to spotlight one urgent message: Fatty Liver Disease, Obesity, Diabetes, and Cardiovascular Disease are NOT isolated issues — they are interlinked. And they demand a united European response.
Let’s take a moment to remember what was announced in the beginning — the vision that brought us all together. And now, let’s keep that momentum going. Because change starts here, but it doesn’t stop here.
