Elizabeth F. Franklin: Approximately 60-70% of Cancer Deaths Occur in Cancers That Do Not Currently Have Screening Tests
Elizabeth F. Franklin, Head, US Public Affairs and Patient Advocacy, Oncology and Neurology at Sanofi, shared on LinkedIn:
“The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) National Summit on the Future of Healthcare is one of my favorite events of the year. ACS CAN always leans into leading-edge innovation that truly has the power to impact and even save the lives of people impacted by cancer. This year was no exception with a focus on breaking down barriers to cancer screening and education.
Approximately 60-70% of cancer deaths occur in cancers that do not currently have screening tests. We have the technology to do better and our health care and financing systems have to evolve to keep pace. As my brilliant friend Erin P. said ‘we can do big, hard things and we can do them fast. We have to tackle cancer screening and detection in a responsible and quick way in order to save lives.”
