Elisabetta Munzone: CTCs enumeration as an early treatment monitoring tool in metastatic breast cancer

“PREDICT Global Analysis confirms the clinical validity of repeated CTCs enumeration as an early treatment monitoring tool in metastatic breast cancer.
Among 4,436 patients, follow-up CTC status was strongly prognostic for OS, independent of tumor subtype and treatment.
CTC responders (positive to negative) had significantly better OS than non-responders (positive to positive) (HR 0.48, 95% CI 0.44–0.53).”
