ECO’s Response to the European Parliament’s Public Health Subcommittee Consultation on Women’s Health
European Cancer Organisation shared a post on LinkedIn:
“12 million women with cancer in Europe = 12 million reasons to act!
The European Cancer Organisation (ECO) is urging EU lawmakers to close the gender gaps in cancer care – and soon.
ECO highlights:
- Women face inconsistent & inadequate cancer care across the EU
- Women are underrepresented in clinical trials, limiting access to cutting-edge treatments
- Women are often misdiagnosed or mistreated due to gender bias and overlapping symptoms
- LGBTIQ+ women face discrimination that hinders access to prevention and care
- Women, targeted in alcohol ads, face greater cancer risks
Learn about every woman’s cancer rights.”
