León to Launch Breast Cancer Navigation Program with Experts in June 2025 – City Cancer Challenge
City Cancer Challenge shared a post on LinkedIn.
“A cancer diagnosis brings uncertainty — not just about treatment, but about what comes next. For too many patients, navigating the healthcare system can feel like an uphill battle. That’s why, through City Cancer Challenge (C/Can), León is leading the way in ensuring no patient faces cancer alone.
Working alongside local healthcare institutions and international experts, León identified a critical need: a Nurse Navigation Programme for breast cancer patients. The first step? Empowering nurses with the skills to guide patients through their care. From August to November 2024, 35 nurses from 26 hospitals completed a Blended e-learning Course on Cancer Patient Navigation, developed in collaboration with the International Society of Nurses in Cancer Care (ISNCC), Icon Group, Oncology Nursing Society (ONS), and INCAN.
Now, with this foundation in place, León is preparing for the next step: in June 2025, local and global experts will come together to design and implement the city’s Breast Cancer Navigation Programme.
This is what C/Can is all about—cities coming together to transform cancer care, one step at a time.
We would like to thank Global Focus on Cancer (US charitable organization supported by Eli Lilly and Company) for their support to this project.”
