The 4th China-US Anti-Cancer Summit Successfully Held Online
On December 10, 2024, the 4th China-US Anti-Cancer Summit was successfully held virtually.
Organized by the China Anti-Cancer Association (CACA), US Chinese Anti-Cancer Association (USCACA), World Association for Integrative Oncology (WAIO), and eChinahealth, the event attracted 17 million online viewers from countries including China, the United States, Canada, Japan, Morocco, Malawi and others.
The 2024 event conducted in-depth discussions on cancer prevention, treatment, and management. Leading experts from China and the U.S. participated in online sessions, sharing the latest research findings and clinical practices in oncology.
The event was hosted by Professor Li Yan, Managing Director of USCACA. Professor Ying Wang, Vice President of CACA, Secretary General of the Asian Oncology Society (AOS) and WAIO, delivered the opening remark on behalf of the CACA.
At the summit, Prof. Daiming Fan, President of CACA, President of the Asian Oncology Society (AOS) andPresident of WAIO, delivered a keynote speech titled“Development of Holistic Integrative Management of Cancer in China”.
Professor Patricia LoRusso, the President of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), gave a presentation on “Cancer Research Progress in the U.S.”.
Professor Robin Zon, the President of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), delivered a speech titled “Clinical Oncology Progress in the United States”.
Professor Anu Agrawal, Vice President of Global CancerSupport of American Cancer Society (ACS), gave a presentation on “Bridging the Cancer Care Gap:Opportunities to Positively Impact Predicted Increased Cancer Incidence and Mortality”.
The panel discussion was a highlight of the summit. Several topics were discussed, including the role of AI in clinical research and practice, ways to improve the quality of patient diagnosis and treatment, and strengthening primary healthcare.
During this session, Professor Ying Wang emphasized that international cooperation and academic exchange are key to the improvement of cancer control. All experts strongly agreed with this viewpoint, recognizing that only through collaborative efforts can global cancer prevention and control be effectively advanced.
The successful holding of the 2024 China-US Anti-Cancer Summit provided an opportunity to engage in discussions on key issues in cancer prevention and treatment. The summit not only deepened cooperation between China and the U.S. but also advanced the goal of creating a brighter future for cancer patients worldwide.
