Lacy Hubbard։ Mission 2027 – A Bold Step Toward Cervical Cancer Elimination
Lacy Hubbard, President and CEO of Elekta Foundation, shared on LinkedIn:
“Mission 2027: A Bold Step Toward Cervical Cancer Elimination
I had the privilege of joining the official launch of Mission 2027 – Rwanda’s ambitious initiative to achieve the 90-70-90 cervical cancer elimination targets three years ahead of the World Health Organization (WHO) 2030 timeline.
The following day, a walk was organized to raise awareness about cervical cancer elimination among the general public.
Mission 2027 will transform Rwanda and inspire the world. As Dr. Prebo Barango from WHO highlighted, we urgently need to accelerate our efforts. Only five years remain to meet the global elimination deadline. We all need to act faster!
Reflecting on our progress, I’m inspired by how commitment, partnerships, and innovation have driven impact – from developing the FAST model to screening over 180,000 women in less than 2.5 years.
As we mark World Cancer Day, Mission 2027 stands as a testament to what’s possible when governments, NGOs, private sectors, and global health leaders come together with a shared vision. Together, we can move faster, reach further, and save more women’s lives.”
