Carlos Ayala-Navarro on the immune microenvironment in appendiceal cancers – Moffitt Cancer Center
Moffitt Cancer Center shared a post on X:
“During SSO2025, Carlos Ayala-Navarro presents on immune microenvironment in appendiceal cancers.
Key findings include increased MUC2 cells in tumors, reduced populations of B, T, and regulatory T cells, and an increased presence of neutrophils, macrophages, and goblet-like cells in tumors. Additionally, high-grade tumors showed higher immune activation scores compared to low-grade tumors.
The findings highlight the immunosuppressive nature of the tumor microenvironment and underscore the need for further research into targeted immunotherapy for appendiceal cancers.”
