We had the pleasure of welcoming student to our ‘Careers in Cancer Research’ evening – ICR
The Institute of Cancer Research shared on LinkedIn:
“Earlier this week, we had the pleasure of welcoming students from Chelsea Academy, Hammersmith Academy, and St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College to our ‘Careers in Cancer Research’ evening at our Chester Beatty Laboratories in Chelsea!
Students had the opportunity to explore our labs, meet our scientists and researchers, and learn more about the vital work they do. They learned about the importance of cancer research and the need for a new generation of scientists and innovators to make the discoveries of tomorrow.
The evening was also filled with activities where students tested their pipetting skills, extracted DNA from strawberries, and pieced together an AI jigsaw puzzle, all designed to help them build the skills and knowledge they need to feel confident in pursuing a career in science.
One of the teachers shared that their students had been talking about how much they enjoyed it and how interesting it was during school the next day!”
