“Cali is at the forefront of a global movement as local and international leaders gather for the Global Breast Cancer Initiative (GBCI) Implementation Planning Workshop. Developed by the World Health Organization (WHO), the GBCI framework is being implemented at the city level by C/Can, empowering cities like Cali to transform breast cancer care.
Since joining C/Can in 2017, Cali has become a hub of innovation in cancer care. Now, the city is developing a Breast Cancer Action Plan (BCAP) tailored to its unique needs, aiming to improve early detection, diagnosis, and treatment. With breast cancer as the most diagnosed cancer among women worldwide, this initiative holds the power to save lives and inspire similar efforts across Latin America.
Learn how Cali is leading the fight against breast cancer and shaping a healthier future for women across the region.
A special thank you to all the experts and advocates driving this crucial work forward in Colombia and around the world! Your dedication is inspiring change. We’d like to extend our thank you to IFPMA for its convening role and to Amgen, AstraZeneca, Bristol Myers Squibb, and MSD who provided essential funding through which C/Can can operate the GBCI partnership.”
