“Horizon – Raising Awareness on Biliary Tract Cancer

The Jarurat Care Foundation, in collaboration with Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre, successfully hosted an impactful event dedicated to raising awareness about Biliary Tract Cancer (BTC). The event brought together medical experts, caregivers, and patients, fostering insightful discussions and support for those affected by BTC.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Sewanti Limaye, whose invaluable guidance emphasized the importance of holistic patient care and strong patient advocacy in India. She actively encouraged attendees to become patient advocates, ensuring better support systems for those battling cancer.

We extend our sincere appreciation to other Program Directors Dr. Soumil Vyas, Dr. Pritam Kataria, Dr. Darshit Shah, Dr. Niyati Shah, Ms. Mehezabin Dordi and Ms. Priyanka Joshifor their invaluable contributions. Ms. Mehezabin Dordi’s session underscored the critical role of emotional resilience in coping with cancer, leaving a profound impact on the attendees.

The event also featured a music therapy session by Mrs. Binal Shah from Aaroha Music Therapy, which added a unique and soothing dimension, highlighting the power of holistic healing. A dynamic panel discussion followed, where experts addressed key concerns, debunked myths, and clarified misconceptions surrounding BTC, offering patients and caregivers direct access to medical insights.

One of the most meaningful moments was the opportunity for patients to share their personal journeys, fostering an emotional connection between caregivers, doctors, and attendees. Beyond medical advice, doctors provided guidance on emotional and psychological well-being, reinforcing the significance of mental health alongside medical treatment.

The event concluded with a pledge ceremony and the distribution of care packages, ensuring that attendees left feeling supported, informed, and empowered.
