Benjamin Mugisha has been appointed as the ambassador for Mission 2027 in Rwanda – Elekta Foundation
Elekta Foundation shared a post on LinkedIn:
“We are thrilled to announce that Benjamin Mugisha, the renowned Rwandan singer-songwriter known as The Ben, has been appointed as the ambassador for Mission 2027 in Rwanda and cervical and breast cancer screening in the Great Lakes region.
The Ben will use his musical talent and social media presence to raise cancer awareness, challenge stigma, and promote screening initiatives.
‘I’m excited to partner with Elekta Foundation to support cancer research and awareness. Having a loved one affected by this terrible disease has shown me the importance of our collective efforts. I believe that music has the power to heal and inspire, and I’m committed to using my platform to make a positive impact. Thank you for joining me on this journey’, says The Ben.
Benjamin Mugisha, professionally known as The Ben, moved to the United States in 2010, where he collaborated with Detroit-based hip-hop artist Mike-E Ellison. In 2014, he was invited to perform his song “I Can See” at the UN headquarters.
