Antonio Grimaldi: A bell to ring for all those who defeat cancer
Antonio Grimaldi, Director of U.O.C. Oncology at AORN San Pio, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“A bell to ring for all those who defeat cancer: it is the gift of a patient, Mrs. Anna, and her whole family to the Oncology department of San Pio at the P.O. Sant’Alfonso MdG of Sant’Agata de Goti.
The Bell of Relief was blessed this morning by Father Antonio Raccio at the end of the Eucharistic celebration and delivered into the hands of the director of Oncology, Antonio M. Grimaldi and the medical director, Pasquale Di Guida.
A gift that has a rich symbolic value, especially because it comes from those like Mrs. Anna, who has been struggling with her personal battle against the disease for a few months, which, however, she does not face alone, but with the sharing of a structure that takes charge of her current experience.
His angels are the oncologists Maria Anna Bareschino and Vincenzo Ricci, and the nurses Maria Cristina Zanchelli, Salvatore Iannucci and Antonio Cinelli.
The bell will be hung in the Medical Oncology department of Sant’Agata de Goti and will be rung by patients who manage to defeat cancer.
This gift is a beautiful gesture of love between people and for life, with the hope of listening to that sound very often.
For those who will play it and for those who will listen to it, it will be a nice way to encourage everyone to fight for life.”
