Akhil Santhosh: Maintenance chemo’s role is questionable with chemo-IO combinations in advanced BTC
Akhil Santhosh, Medical Oncology Specialist at MVR Cancer Centre and Research Institute, shared a post on X:
“Role of maintenance chemo is questionable in the era of chemo-IO combinations for advanvced BTC. Both the keynote 966 and TOPAZ report similar 2 and 3-year OS.
Continuation of gemcitabine beyond 8 cycles simply adds to financial burden and depletion of bone marrow reserves.”
