Introducing AIEOP’s 2024-2027 Working Group Coordinators – Andrea Ferrari
AIEOP – Italian Association of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology shared a post on LinkedIn:
“INTRODUCING AIEOP’S 2024-2027 WORKING GROUP COORDINATORS”
Coordinator: Andrea Ferrari
Working Group: Adolescents
Center: The National Cancer Institute of Milan (INT), foundation and government-designated centre for treatment and research (IRCCS)
Andrea Ferrari is a pediatric oncologist at The National Cancer Institute of Milan and Associate Professor of Medical Oncology at The University of Milan.
Over the years, he has held numerous roles in coordinating national and international projects and cooperative groups in the field of pediatric tumors. He is universally recognized as one of the “founding fathers” of adolescent and young adult oncology, in Italy and worldwide.
He is the coordinator of the Gruppo Intersocietario AIOM-AIEOP, a group created between AIOM and AIEOP, dedicated to adolescents and young adults, and leader of the new Network of Expertise (NoE) on Adolescents and Young Adults (AYA) with Cancer promoted by the European Commission as part of the JANE-2- EU Joint Action on Networks of Expertise on Cancer.
What is your vision for this 2024-2027 term?
‘The goal for the next three years is for our Working Group to be truly capable of guiding an increasingly complex path in two directions: that of structuring an increasingly active collaboration with adult oncology colleagues and that – connected to the first – of the European vision, through the new Network of Expertise on Adolescents and Young Adults (AYA) promoted by the European Commission within the Joint Action JANE.’
