AACR President Patricia M. LoRusso led a delegation to Kenya this week to strengthen clinical cancer research training in Africa – AACR
American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) shared on LinkedIn:
“AACR President Patricia M. LoRusso led an AACR delegation to Kenya this week as part of a new AACR initiative to strengthen clinical cancer research training in Africa. During the listening tour, Dr. LoRusso met with AORTIC President Miriam Mutebi and leaders in cancer research and patient care from Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), Aga Khan University Hospital, Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral, and Research Hospital (KUTRRH), Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), and the Kenya National Cancer Institute.
This listening tour will help the AACR connect more closely with cancer research communities in Africa and determine how the AACR can develop synergistic programs to complement the efforts of those communities. We look forward to collaborating with our African colleagues to foster the next generation of clinical cancer researchers on the continent.”
