3,000 cases of treated children over the last 30 years at the Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Armenia
“Lianna announced the end of her treatment by ringing the symbolic bell at the Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Armenia. She returns home with a big smile after completing her treatment.
Almost a year ago, 15-year-old Lianna was diagnosed with cancer, and today she sent her heartfelt wishes to her friends.
Behind this victory are the experienced specialists of the Yeolyan Center and especially Lianna’s doctor, pediatric oncologist Ruzanna Papyan, who presented Lianna with the medal ‘Winning in the Fight for Life.’ She presented a brief picture of the treatment process, emphasizing the importance of timely medical intervention.
Lilit Sargsyan, deputy medical director of the Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center, Ministry of Health of Armenia, and head of the pediatric oncology department of the Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Armenia, shared the statistical data of pediatric cancer cases in our country, specifically noting that over the last almost 30 years, 3,000 cases of cured children have been registered.
We also thank the center’s psychosocial service and medical staff, as well as the City of Smile Charitable Foundation for covering the costs of treatment and care for Lianna and all our other patients.
This is another reminder that cancer is not a sentence!”
