Laura D. Porter: 20 years ago this past week I was diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer and had an 8% chance of living 5 years. It came back twice but I am still here.

“20 years ago this past week I was diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer and had an 8% chance of living 5 years. It came back twice but I am still here. I didn’t do anything different than those I loved and loss to this disease, my life is truly a gift. I am grateful for the journey, we stopped waiting to do things, we “lived like I was dying” we thought I was. I forgot that part for a few years but now we are taking adventures again. We saw Lady Gaga last year and Pink this year. I thought of one of my dear friends who died from this disease Diana Klutz Sloan whose moto was “we don’t wait” I miss you my BFF and thank you for your love and inspiration.”
