Shauny’s inspiring journey from childhood cancer patient to dedicated advocate

“Hi Network!
In our latest interview, we had the honor of speaking with Shauny, a remarkable cancer survivor and disability advocate from the Netherlands. Diagnosed with cancer at just 8 years old, Shauny shares their inspiring journey from childhood cancer patient to dedicated advocate.
Not only is Shauny a fun and incredible person to meet, but they are also a phenomenal wheelchair athlete, having completed over 5 marathons, including the Disney World International Marathon!
Thank you, Shauny, for enriching us with your story and insights!
MANO with and Beyond Cancer started as my personal project three years ago to connect with cancer survivors across Latin America. After talking to survivors from every country in that region, we decided to go global.
While we started with interviews in Spanish, we’re now doing them in English too, including Shauny’s, to reach and inspire even more people around the world. Stay tuned for more amazing stories!
Thank you European Network of Youth Cancer Survivors for connecting us!”
