“It was a pleasure to speak at the European Commission’s event – Cancer survivorship: advancing the Right to be Forgotten, alongside Mike Morrissey from European Cancer Organisation, Roxana Albu from Association of European Cancer Leagues, and John Turner from Reinsurance Advisory Board.
The discussion showed the willingness among everyone to achieve a shared goal: agreeing an EU-wide Code of Conduct that facilitates access of people with a history of cancer to financial services.
At the same time, it must not undermine other customers’ access to insurance protection, nor the insurance industry’s ability to properly assess risk. We look forward to building on the progress that has been made, and continuing to work on a Code of Conduct that will increase the social and financial inclusion of people with a cancer history.
We are not quite there, but we are getting there, and I am determined together we will get there.”
