“Myth: A patient that is stooling everyday is not constipated.
Reality: A patient may be stooling small amounts everyday but still be accumulating stool in the colon and not adequately emptying the colon on daily basis. This is the reason why we use abdominal radiograph, besides patient/parent’s report, when evaluating constipation or response to laxatives. ”
