“Have you ever met advanced cancer patients who had disease failure on many lines of treatment?
Do you remember your feelings when he asked you for more chance of treatment, while you have nothing to give him?
This feeling is very unpleasant: feelings of helplessness, and that nothing can be done for patients who are optimistic.
Re-irradiation is one of the challenges and optimistic lines of treatment that give a chance for these patients, who had previously full doses of radical radiotherapy.
