Ashwin Kishtagari: A case with distinct bone marrow findings associated with a noncanonical UBA1 variant
Ashwin Kishtagari, Assistant Professor at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, shared a post on X/Twitter:
“We report a case with distinct bone marrow findings associated with a noncanonical UBA1 variant (Ser56Phe) Marked erythroid hyperplasia and cytoplasmic vacuolization.
Our case highlights the fact that UBA1 assays that test only for Met41 variants are insufficient to identify all patients with VEXAS.”
