“Realizing I was terrible at estimating my patients’ energy levels I handed one gentleman this validated “performance status” instrument to rate himself.

“It’s like golf,” I said, “the lower, the better”. He handed it back, “Terrible analogy, Doc. I’d be thrilled with 5 over par.””
