”Several tips for young pediatric oncologists!

  • First believe in yourself: Remember, every step counts!
  • Stay updated: Read articles from your topic of interest and reach out to authors for questions.
  • Create a 5-10-year plan: Set milestones for each year.
  • Educational events: Identify crucial conferences, workshops, and seminars. Prioritize based on your interests.
  • Awards and Grants: List the awards and grants you want to apply. Determine when and how you to aim receive them.
  • Engage in Networks: Join international organizations like the International Society of Paediatric Oncology – SIOP, the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), SIOP Europe, the European Society for Paediatric Oncology (SIOPE), SIOP Asia 2023, European School of Oncology, etc and actively participate.
  • Mentoring: Connect with the field experts. Find mentors who can guide you along the way.
  • International Exposure: Gain experience abroad. Even if you’re based in one of the best centers, diverse hospital experiences enrich your knowledge.
  • Publish your data: Share your findings with the world. Let your research speak for itself.”
