Joshua Omale: The global Oncothon was more than an event; it was a testament to the power of unified advocacy
Joshua Omale, Cancer Advocate and a Student Member of the Coalition Against Childhood Cancer (CAC2), shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Day 18: Global Awareness in Childhood Cancer Advocacy
As I reflect on this journey, World Childhood Cancer Day 2024 stands out as a poignant moment. Contributing my voice to the global Oncothon was more than an event; it was a testament to the power of unified advocacy. The virtual gathering echoed with stories from advocates across continents, each resonating with a shared purpose – to make a difference in the lives of children facing cancer by raising funds for pediatric research.
A salient reflection: In our global endeavors, let’s remember that awareness is not confined by borders. Our narratives, our efforts, and our shared commitment reverberate globally, creating a mosaic of hope and resilience.
We must remember that sharing our stories and insights across borders not only raises awareness but also emphasizes the universal urgency to prioritize childhood cancer on the global health agenda.”
