Wei Zhang: We are very excited to test whether his novel drug will help overcome disparities in treatment of colorectal cancer
Wei Zhang, Director at Center for Cancer Genomics and Precision Oncology, Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Cancer Center, posted on LinkedIn:
“Colorectal cancer affects a large number of people from all ethnic backgrounds, especially so the African Americans. It’s our priority to address this health disparity. It was very nice to meet up my colleague Bil Gmeiner on Friday during our cancer center strategic planning to discuss about our planned work. We look forward to receiving funding from NCI to move this forward! Dr. Gmeiner was leading the drug development working group. We are very excited to test whether his novel drug will help overcome disparities in treatment of colorectal cancer. Our GI oncologist Mo Salem, our genomic guru, Lance Miller, are equally excited about our cancer health disparities program in colorectal cancer.”
