“I would like to thank the courageous cancer survivors who agreed to share their stories with cancer and financial discrimination with us today. By sharing their stories, they underlined the real-life impact that financial discrimination has had on their lives, from preventing them from purchasing a home or doing so at a much higher cost than for others to being enable to support their children in their education.
I am not sharing any pictures from their interventions as stigma against cancer survivors remains an issue.
Their bravery and insights are invaluable in our collective efforts to make a difference. Let’s all work together to support the defining and implementation of a European legislation that truly protects cancer survivors from unjust conditions they are confronted with after battling cancer.”
