Christos Tsagkaris: The Diana Award invited me to share my journey through and for cancer prevention and control
Christos Tsagkaris, Research Fellow in the Department of Orthopedics of Balgrist University Hospital, shared on LinkedIn:
“The Diana Award invited me to share my journey through and for cancer prevention and control on the occasion of World Cancer Day 2024.
Grateful for the opportunity to provide a testimony on how initiatives, organizations, and people, including (but not limited to) the EU Missions, the Association of European Cancer Leagues, WHO Regional Office for Europe’s Evidaction, The Institute of Cancer and Crisis (ICC), the Cancer Prevention Research Group in Greece (CPRGGreece), and LAMSA Lebanon, can contribute to improving the lives of 3+ million people in Europe and beyond.
And a key personal take: Bone cancer is rare and unfortunately not preventable. Nevertheless, musculoskeletal health is a driving force for physical activity that can reportedly reduce the risk of bowel and breast cancer, conditions that might affect approximately up to 10% of the population.”
