“MONALISA kick-off Meeting: Pioneering Advances in Cancer Research!
Today marked the official inauguration of MONALISA, a project funded by EUHorizon. Focused on monitoring treatment responses in high-risk neuroblastoma patients, MONALISA aims to establish liquid biopsies as a standard procedure for recurrent neuroblastoma surveillance. Scientifically coordinated by St. Anna Children’s Cancer Research Institute (CCRI) and its subsidiary Labdia Labordiagnostik GmbH, alongside Prinses Máxima Centrum voor kinderoncologie, and under the adept coordination of SIOP Europe, the European Society for Paediatric Oncology (SIOPE), MONALISA is positioned to bridge existing gaps and introduce transformative advancements.
The kick-off meeting, held in Vienna at St. Anna CCRI, represented a pivotal moment in MONALISA’s trajectory. Commencing with a warm networking lunch, the event unfolded with insights from key figures such as Samira Essiaf (SIOPE), Sabine Taschner-Mandl (St. Anna CCRI), and Lieve Tytgat (Prinses Máxima) presenting the project’s overarching goals. Work package sessions, guided by experts like Hedwig Deubzer (Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin), Gudrun Schleiermacher (Institut Curie), and Vassilios Papadakis (AGIA), delved into retrospective data analysis, databases, and quality-of-life assessments, showcasing the project’s comprehensive and collaborative approach.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all participants for their valuable contributions, enthusiasm, and dedication to advancing the frontiers of cancer research. Together, we look forward to achieving new milestones in the fight against pediatric neuroblastoma.
