“Strengthening Cancer Care Collaboration in Kenya
On 11 July 2025, City Cancer Challenge (C/Can) had the privilege of engaging with Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital (KUTRRH), one of the national leaders in comprehensive cancer care.
Together with the CEO Zeinab Gura and the oncology leadership team, we explored key areas for collaboration, including:
- Linkage with partners offering radiotherapy services
- Collaboration with the Hospital’s Training Institute for Specialized Nursing on Oncology training for Nurses
- Strengthening palliative care partnerships
- Enabling research capacity and UICC fellowship access
We’re also excited to welcome Dr. Gura to the Nairobi City Executive Committee (CEC), deepening multisectoral collaboration under the City Engagement Process Framework.
This engagement, co-led by C/Can CEO Isabel Mestres, marks a significant step toward achieving sustainable and equitable cancer care in Nairobi.”
