Thomas Powles: We need better biomarkers in Urothelial Carcinoma
Thomas Powles, Director of Barts Cancer Centre, shared a post on X/Twitter:
“Microsatellite instability (MSIH) is linked to miss match repair deficiency and is used in endometrial cancer for response to Immuno-Oncology (I-O). In Urothelial Carcinoma (UC), it is associated with an increase in Tumor Mutational Burden (TMB) and Progression-free survival (PFS) (but only 2% of tumors). This doesn’t seem to solve our problems. We need better biomarkers in UC.”
